Decorating Our Gate for Christmas

Our subdivision has a pretty gate & I like to decorate it for Christmas. Since it is not as straight forward as attaching a wreath, I thought I'd show you a little about how I do it.

The gate has this pretty circle in the middle, but it is quite large & it would be hard to find a wreath that is just the right size. So I found some garland & cut it to size instead. One of the gates splits down the middle when it opens. Two half wreaths are the solution.
Zip ties hold the garland securely in place for all those winter storms that will surely come our way this month!
I just love this velvet-like, weatherproof ribbon. It does not fade in the sun & the snow or rain won't hurt it. I also added some inexpensive plastic balls.
