Halloween Porch Decor

Happy Halloween from Wheadon House!
I have always enjoyed decorating the front of my house for the kiddos in the neighborhood. When my children were small, we would drive by our favorite "Halloween houses" on the way home just for the simple pleasure of seeing them. I like to say that these his & hers skeletons are a likeness of Honey & I in a few years! He he. {Click the blue bar below for more . . . }

We've had a long, hot summer & autumn is so welcome this year. It's fun to watch the way the light & the shadows change during the fall season. And the smells! For instance, Honey made apple crisp tonight & the whole house smells fantastic!
We had all sons & they enjoyed creating scary haunted houses in the back yard. Some of the things they came up with were pretty gory. {It makes for a good chuckle now.} I don't like my decor to be too scary - more classy with a little whimsy suits our house.

It may sound strange, but white is one of my favorite colors. I've seen lots of white mums in this year's home & garden magazines & they make such pretty displays - plus I love how they can be transitioned into Thanksgiving decor as well. It sure was hard to find some in my area though. I think I might grow my own next year. Enjoy this beautiful season!
