The very first thing I like to do when planning a church party is to decide on a theme. For Christmas parties, carols provide meaningful lyrics that are perfect inspiration. This time we chose "Oh Come Let Us Adore Him". And just to be different, we decorated in gold & silver. {Click the blue bar below for more.}
We had a lot of tables to decorate & the budget is always slim, so we ended up making little cone tree centerpieces out of wrapping paper. Each table also had a little faux snow as well as some ornaments and/or pine cones.

We mixed in a few of these tree stump chargers. I love the juxtaposition of the shiny metallics with the natural pine cones & tree chargers. So fun!
If you're decorating a large space like this, go for as much drama as you can. I got some of these large gold elements{like the gold fringe flanking the chalkboard}from Walmart.
