Pretty (& Delicious) Shower Food

I hosted quite a few wedding & baby showers this spring. Brunch was served at two of them. My dear friend Colette helped me with the food for one of the showers & here are her wonderful ideas.

I fell in love with this pretty drink.  It is a spin on a tequila sunrise but without the alcohol. It is so easy to make. Fill the glass 3/4 of the way with  orange juice first, followed by some grenadine syrup poured in the middle. Add your garnishment & TA-DA! It still tastes the same to me, but looks fancier & more festive.  This was also a big hit . . .
these beautiful yogurt cups. Again, so easy. Layer yogurt, granola & berries in a pretty cup. Colette inherited her glass punch cups from her mother. I bought mine at the thrift store. We use them quite a bit!
Honey & I call bacon "meat candy". We love it! Ha ha! It was so much easier to eat served on skewers.
OK - one more little gem. This caramel syrup recipe is copied from a favorite local restaurant & it is SO good.  It is quick to whip up & serve with french toast sticks. YUM!

Caramel Syrup
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
Just combine ingredients & warm on a low heat in a saucepan. Serve warm if possible.

Thanks again to my dear friend Colette for always being so fabulous!
