Paper Sack Stars

Get ready for a neat little trick that you're going to love having in your back pocket! Paper bag stars (and snowflakes) are easy to make & inexpensive. They are great when you need to create some drama with very little budget. They are especially great when decorating for a church function in a large cultural hall or a school activity in a gym. How about hanging from a pavilion?
Here's what you'll need to make them . . . (click the blue bar below for more!)

I didn't have time to hunt all over town for the white paper bags, so I found them here. Here are the steps on how to make this easy project . . .
This craft can also be made with paper grocery bags. It's the same process - you just might need to paint the star a pretty color. I like silver (below). I didn't bother to try to paint the inside parts. I liked the two-tone look.
To make snowflakes, just vary the cut out pattern from a point to some curves. You can experiment to see what looks good. This is the pattern I used. (I used a cardboard template, but you can also just "wing it".

This is how mine turned out.
