Navy Blue Bathroom

I'm so excited that my navy blue bathroom is finished. This is one of the few rooms I've been able to design from the ground up - from the flooring to the tile -  to the paint & accessories. I got almost everything I wanted. {Please click the blue bar below to see more.}

One thing that I am really happy with is the flooring. It looks just like wood, but it's really tile. Because tile can get wet and it's low maintenance, it's a better choice than wood for bathrooms. One thing I wanted, but it wasn't in the budget - is an antique dresser made into a vanity. This wooden one is great though.
The subway tile is a classic that I just couldn't resist & the grey grout highlights the shape of the tiles. Plus, grey is easier to keep clean than white.
I scoured the internet until I found the perfect shower curtain {you can find it here} & it looks fantastic with the white walls, navy blue ceiling & wood finishes. This is one of my many key collections which I keep in a shadow box.
I'm pretty sure our foreman thought I was nuts when I said I wanted a navy blue ceiling. But I absolutely love it! AND I saved $200 by painting it myself. The color is New York State of Mind by Benjamin Moore.

I had my heart set on an antique mirror with a wooden frame. It took a long time to find this one - when I did it was only $20. I thought I would replace the glass because it has some scratches on it, but we decided we liked it better the was it was.
It also took a lot of searching to find this navy blue striped rug. It's a little smaller than I planned, but other than that it's perfect.
Sometimes it pays to think outside the box. For instance, the navy striped towels over the white towels are actually for dishes - not the bathroom. But they look great. The white tray is also for the kitchen, but it was perfect to hold the accessories on this small counter space.
