Local Yocal - Tubing Down the Provo River

Since we live in such a wonderful place - I enjoy exploring some of the fun things to do in my own back yard. Once in a while I like to share a favorite place with you {just in case you're new to the area - or if you haven't discovered my favs}.

This one has been on my wish list for a LONG time! My girlfriends have started an annual tradition of tubing down the Provo River & I was able to join them this year. {Click on the blue bar below to read more}.

It was such a great time! We used High Country Adventure where we parked & rode a shuttle up to the starting point. Because there were ten of us, we got a group discount.

What you'll need. Water shoes are a must because sometimes you have to walk on the rocks at the bottom of the water - or push away from the sides. Make sure to wear the kind of shoes that stay on your feet. High Country provides life vests, but they are well-used so if you might want to bring your own. Since the water is shallow, it seems like life life vests aren't needed. But at one point my tube got away from me & the water was swift! And since the water is around 55 degrees, shorty wet suits might be a good idea as well. The float took a little over an hour. {Make sure not to miss the exit point where you get out of the water!} Our sweet friend packed some bottled water & some food in an ice chest - which we sure appreciated after our time on the water.
One of my favorite parts was when the Heber Creeper train ambled by. And this activity was a great was to cool off during the hot summer.

  1. We got the chance to visit the Salt Lake City/Park City area this summer and I fell in love.
    It is so beautiful there.
I could definitely see me living there.
