"Fried" Ice Cream

Mmm! I love fried ice cream. But it is a lot of work & I think the fried oil is a little smelly. Here's an "un-fried" easy twist on the original & it tastes a lot like the real thing!

It's great served with anything, but I love to serve it with a Mexican meal. And the nice thing is that you can even make it the day before. {Many thanks to my friend, Debi for sharing her recipe!}

"Un-Fried" Ice Cream
  • approximately 7 oz. {or 1/2 a box} Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • vanilla ice cream
  • honey
Place cereal, cinnamon & sugar in a large ziploc bag. Crush with a rolling pin. Soften ice cream a bit & shape into balls. Roll in cereal mixture & freeze. Serve with drizzled honey.

Tip: if you're making a lot, the cold ice cream can really hurt your hands. I only use these gloves for cooking purposes like this & it helps a lot!
