There's a cute little pizza restaurant nearby & I am quite taken with a huge striped canvas artwork they have hanging on the wall.
{I don't know the man in the photo. He was just there waiting for his food. :D}
I decided it would be fun to make something similar, but on a much smaller scale. BTW, I only used materials that I already had on hand, so this project was FREE! WAHOO!
The canvas was an old photograph from Hunny's office.
I primed over it, then used DecoArt colors from my craft closet. Frog Tape really is as great as they say & it's the best for this kind of project.
I used a ruler to measure the spaces, taped, painted, had a hissy fit having to wait patiently waited for each color to dry, then painted the next stripe.
Here's my version.
The quilt in the photo was my color inspiration. This project was made especially for a wall grouping with lots of happy colors - {CLICK HERE to see it}.
Loving the artwork and you source of inspiration. The quilt is beautiful, and you successfully pulled out the colors! Very pretty. Your link didn't show a photo, so I fixed it for you so it does. Don't want anyone to miss this! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Cathy - you are the best. I'm pretty sure you had to do the same thing for me last time! I'll be more careful about using a "small" photo in the future. Thanks so much for hosting AND for fixing my photo!
