They say that
"Cooking is love made visible"
& I believe it
because when my moma
made chocolate gravy for me,
I knew I was loved!
Now that I'm grown up,
if I'm having a really bad week . . .
I still indulge in a little southern comfort.
{And I usually just make canned biscuits to go
with it - don't tell Aunt Evalee!}
Here's my recipe for chocolate bliss:
Chocolate Gravy
honeyimhomeblog.com
- 1 Tbsp. Hershey's Natural Unsweetened Cocoa {dry powder}
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup water
Put all the dry ingredients together in a saucepan & mix with a spoon. SLOWLY add liquids - stirring with a whisk to avoid lumps.
Cook over medium heat {keep stirring} until thickened. SERVE WITH BISCUITS & LOTS OF BUTTER! {Remember, this is comfort food!}
*You can also add chocolate chips to make it richer--this goes great with scones. Olive Garden serves something very much like it.
Oh my gosh! That sounds delicious! Once I get off this really restrictive diet I'll have to try it. I'm sorry I missed the get together. I bet it was a blast. I hope to make the next one.
