So now that I have my darling granddaughter, Nellie,
I might be a little overboard excited about her
birthday parties.
I'm making preparations now so that I can throw a
{hopefully} really sensational party
for her on a budget.
This has meant lots of spray paint & epoxy!
I have finally overcome my fear of epoxy.
{It turns out that, like most things we're afraid of,
epoxy isn't that scary to work with after all!}
I have finally overcome my fear of epoxy.
{It turns out that, like most things we're afraid of,
epoxy isn't that scary to work with after all!}
I found this dinner plate & dessert plate on sale for 70% off
& the glass thing-a-ma-gig was 75 cents at the thrift store.
{So the total cost for this project was about $4 since I got the glue free - thanks Gorilla Glue!}
Epoxy is stinky, so do this outside if possible.
It has different set-up times. We usually use the 5 minute type.
Just squeeze the epoxy onto a paper plate.
{The goop is separated into two chambers - when it combines, it becomes epoxy.}
Use a disposable spoon to mix the two gels together.
Working quickly, put some goo on whatever you want glued.
As you can see, I just used the "dipping" method.
You will have a little time to get your pieces positioned
& to wipe off any excess glue. Then,
{and this part is almost impossible for me}
leave it alone until it dries!
I love the way it turned out.
Here it is again with Nellie's
"play desserts" on it.
{The play desserts were Christmas ornaments which
we purchased on sale & cut the strings off.}
More happy party decor to come!
