Summer's Last Hoo-rah . . . Making Ice Cream with Nellie

My sweet grand daughter
and I decided to
make homemade ice cream
one more time
as summer fades away.

Nellie loves to "cook", so we are
starting out with easy stuff that
really just involves mixing
without the danger of the stove or oven.

If you don't like to worry with
ice cream recipes which involve eggs,
you'll love this delicious ice cream!

I'm sharing our recipe
(which I got from my dear friend, Colette).
But first,
don't you just LOVE our matching aprons?

The company that makes them
is called Gloveables.

 Homemade Ice Cream Recipe:

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 small package instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Whatever else you want to add - we've used strawberries or peaches & we love both!

Enjoy!

 Warmly, Michelle

  1. Hi, Michelle!
I found your blog at over 40 bloggers. You have a great blog. I'll follow. My daughter just walked by and said"That lady has a cute little girl." I said,"I think it's her granddaughter." "No, Mommy. She looks to young to be a grandmother."
Just thought I'd pass this on. We all like little gems like that in our days!
Come by and visit my blog. Don't forget to say Hi!

  3. Those matching aprons are just too cute! The ice cream looks yummy, too. I used to make it with my grandma when I was little, so this brought back happy memories. :-)

  4. Oh my goodness Michelle, she's adorable, but I would believe you if you'd said it was your daughter, truly I would! You do not look old enough to be a grandma!!! Love the matching aprons.
    Blessings,

  7. WoW! That looks so yummy, and I want to look like you when I'm a grandmother, but unfortunately I already look at least ten years older than you.
Thanks for sharing the recipe. It's a definite must try!

Made me think of one time I was baking cookies with my grand daughter and she wanted to pretend we were doing a "cooking show"
She called it the COOKING SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN.
